Cleaning Toys: Best Effective Methods To Keep Your Baby’s Toys Fresh and Clean

Cleaning Toys
Cleaning Toys of your children is a little hefty process. It’s no secret that Baby’s toys can be dirty if they aren’t cleaned. But, keeping them clean doesn’t have to be difficult — here are a few effective methods to keep your children’s toys fresh and clean without causing any damage to the toys themselves.

When should I clean my baby’s toys?

The first question that comes to mind is how often should I clean toys? Of course, it depends on a few factors, like how old your child is, what types of toys they have, and how well you can keep an eye on them. At least, we recommend cleaning your baby’s toys after every use. Before you do that, though, there are some things you should know.

For example, if you want to make sure that all germs and bacteria are killed, then it’s important to wash your baby’s toys in hot water. While it may be tempting to put their toys in with everything else when doing laundry or toss them into a sink full of soapy water, these methods aren’t going to get their items as clean as possible.

However, washing their items will ensure they stay germ-free until next time. It also helps if you buy special toy cleaners for children who haven’t learned how to wash their items yet—this way, you don’t have to worry about them using harmful chemicals around their mouths or eyes.

Six Best & Effective Home-based Tips to Clean and Disinfect Toys

Keeping your baby’s toys clean doesn’t have to be difficult — here are some effective methods to keep your children’s toys fresh and clean without causing any damage to the toys themselves.

1. Baking Soda

One of my favorite household cleaning secrets is baking soda! It’s cheap and easy to find and works great on almost everything! Baking soda is great for cleaning your baby’s toys. Dissolve a half cup of baking soda in two cups of water. Place in a spray bottle. Spray dirty toys, then scrub with a toothbrush or old brush. Rinse with clear water after each cleaning, then place toys in the sun to dry completely. Backing Soda can use this to keep your baby’s toys clean and bacteria-free! This method works best if you are using plastic toys. If you have wooden toys, wipe them down with a damp cloth.

2. Salt Water

Saltwater is a great way to clean your baby’s toys. First, add salt to the water until it tastes like ocean water. You can use table salt, sea salt, or kosher salt. Let the toy soak in the salty water for 15-20 minutes. Then, remove from the water and wash well under running water.

3. Soap & Water

Cleaning baby toys with dish soap is one of the easiest methods. Soap and water are the best ways to clean baby toys. You can use soap and warm water to wash your child’s toys. First, make sure that the toy is completely submerged under the water. If you have hard water, make sure you soften it before washing the toys. Soft water contains fewer minerals than hard water, so softening it first will help remove any impurities from the water.

4. Vinegar

Distilled white vinegar kills mold that’s growing on baby toys. It is great for cleaning baby toys. Pour white vinegar into a spray bottle, then spray the baby toy to coat it. Let sit for 1-2 hours before rinsing with water. Then rinse off the toys with fresh water. This method works well for both wooden toys and plastic toys.

5. Microfiber Cloth

Use a microfiber cloth to wipe your toys with a mild soap solution. This method is perfect for those toys with small crevices that need a little extra cleaning attention. When you’re done, allow them to air dry or pat them down with a towel. Make sure they are completely dry before putting them away in storage.

6. Boiling Water

Boiling water is one of the most effective ways to clean dirty baby toys. One needs to place their baby’s toys into a pot of boiling water for about 20 minutes, then let them sit until they are dry. Make sure you let them cool down before giving them back to your little one! If you don’t want to throw away your child’s entire toy collection, give your baby a few pieces of his/her favorite toys at once.

How to Clean Stuffed Toys

If you have a stuffed animal that needs cleaning, try soaking it in a bowl of white vinegar for at least 15 minutes. The vinegar will dissolve the oils and dirt accumulated on your beloved toy while giving it a nice citrus scent. If you’re worried about getting chemicals into the seams or eyes of your child’s toys by using vinegar or any other cleaning method, we recommend against doing so. Toys sold at major retailers are subject to stringent safety standards and testing before they reach store shelves—don’t take any chances with recalled toys! After the bath, let your toy air dry, and then add a few drops of lavender oil to its stuffing before putting it away. Lavender is known for its calming properties, so this will keep your child calm (and quiet) when she plays with her beloved stuffed animal again!

Conclusion

Keeping your baby’s toys clean is an important step in keeping your baby healthy. There are several methods to consider when cleaning toys your child uses. Before you begin, read through these five methods to determine which will be best for you and your family. However, if you’re not sure how to go about cleaning these toys without damaging them beyond repair, take some time to consider these helpful tips.
